Captain What?

John Corrill was an enthusiastic member of the Church, however, during the troubled Missouri years, like so many, he left the Church. In his memoirs, he refers to Quorum of the Twelve member David W. Patten as what for his part in the battle of Crooked River?

a.      Captain America

b.      Captain Crunch

c.       Captain Fear-not

d.      Captain Crooked River

Yesterday’s answer:

b.   A boat that the first group of Saints carried with them across the plains

The first group of Saints carried a leather boat across the plains with them which they named the “Revenue Cutter.” This boat was capable of handling loads of 1500-1800 pounds and was instrumental in ferrying the Saints across rivers, in addition to serving non-members on the Oregon Trail who would pay the Saints in flour.
