Irene
Corbett is the only known Latter-day Saint to die in the Titanic disaster,
although 16 other Latter-day Saints (six returning missionaries and one family
of ten) were scheduled to sail on the doomed ship. Irene wanted to go to
England to study nursing which meant that she had to leave her young family for
a time. Interestingly, she was warned not to leave her family. Who was the
individual that warned her?

The
following from Clarissa Young Spencer: The “store” candy was especially
cherished because sugar was so scarce. Homemade candy was usually made with
honey or molasses made from boiled down melon rinds, pumpkins, squash,
cornstalks, sorghum, and other fruits and vegetables. Until 1891, when sugar
was first manufactured from sugar beets in Lehi, it had to be shipped in.
