David Whitmer
Due to
persecution in the Harmony, Pennsylvania area [Harmony and persecution in the
same sentence. . . .hmmm—about as oxymoron as one can get] it was necessary to
move Joseph, Emma, and Oliver to Fayette, New York and the residence of Peter
Whitmer Sr. David was sent to bring the threesome back to the Whitmer cabin.
Miracles surrounded this event. All the way from David liming and plowing the
fields prior to his journey to the journey itself. What made David Whitmer’s
trek from Fayette to Harmony so miraculous?
