The Flake Family and Another Notable First

If you’ve been following this blog since close to the time that it all began (March 2012) you will recall I shared the story of Agnes Love Flake using her servant Green Flake as settlement on her tithing before she left the Salt Lake Valley for San Bernardino, California. As strange as the situation was, I’m sure that was a first in the Church. Brigham Young accepted Green as tithing and soon gave him his freedom. With time the Flake family came back from California and recorded another notable first in Church history, what was it?

a.      The first family to be baptized in the Salt Lake Temple baptismal font

b.      The first family to own a car in Salt Lake City

c.       The first family to have indoor plumbing in Salt Lake City

d.      The first family to receive their endowments in the Salt Lake Temple

Yesterday’s answer:

b.   Advertised inside the magazine

At the turn of the Century, how Church magazines (Improvement Era, Juvenile Instructor, Relief Society Magazine) defray costs?
