Town names change with time. Not so much now, but more
so during pioneer times. For instance, the two previous names of current day
Placerville, California were Dry Diggins and Hangtown. I prefer Placerville to
Hangtown. What was present day Leavitt, Alberta’s previous name?

Wrap her feet in hot olive oil and onion
poultices
From the life of Mary Ann Homer Boram: When Mary Ann was a tiny girl she was
afflicted with a terrible case of Measles and they feared for her life. Grandpa
Homer said he would rather have her feet crippled than her mind and they
started putting hot Olive Oil and Onion Poultices on her feet. With this and
their faith and prayers, it did draw the measles to her feet and she recovered,
but her feet were terribly twisted and deformed. She always had to wear a
special pair of built up shoes and it was so hard for her to get around.
