Yesterday’s answer:
D   The Rose dance
From the life of Carren Nielsen Peterson Beckstrand:   In their lives, material thing were hard to come by, but so many things of joy came in abundance. For entertainment there were dances for every purpose. The Rabbit dance, (losers gave it to the winners), the Wood dance, (women served a pot luck supper to the men who hauled wood in from the mountain, and others chopped it for the widows and for the school house). The Picnic dance, (all food was passed around). The Wedding dance (all the men danced with the bride).
There were Apple Bees, and Peach Bees where fruit was canned by many sisters for one of them. There were Quilting Bees and Rag Bees, (old and young sat around a circle of torn rags and sewed them together for rugs or carpets).
