Pity
B.
[George Q.] Cannon’s feelings toward enemies were not of anger but
rather of pity.
“My
feelings . . . were those of profound pity for these people who were fighting
against us. A few years more and they would disappear from the scene and their
mortal careers would be ended, and in view of the punishment that awaited them
for fighting against the work of God we could afford to pity them. I had no
feelings of revenge or anger or vindictiveness towards any in my heart.
