D. Beehives
The
beehive symbol persists in the name of one of the Young Women’s classes. It was
not until 1915 that the name Beehive was used, and all Mormon young women, age
14 to adulthood, belonged to the Beehive Girls. Young women were encouraged to achieve
ranks in the Mutual improvement Association by performing certain tasks,
including beekeeping. In 1950, the class of twelve- and thirteen-year-old young
women was given the name Beehives.
