The Commanding of Fire

One day in Kirtland, a man demanded that God send down a pillar of fire to consume Joseph Smith, why?

a.      Joseph was trying to collect his tithing

b.      Joseph told him he had no idea what an angel looked like

c.       Joseph told him his church was not true

d.      Joseph was trying to get him to work on the temple

Yesterday’s answer:

(C)   The old Tabernacle

The following from the life of Joshua Midgley, born October 15, 1832: The old Tabernacle had been built in 1851-52 on Temple Square on the site now occupied by the Assembly Hall. Jemima [Joshua’s wife], who had a fine voice and a love of music, promptly became a member of the choir. Joshua was admitted to membership in the eighteen-piece Tabernacle Choir orchestra as violin-cellist. He also was asked to join the Deseret Quadrille Band, Captain Ball’s Band, and William Pitt’s Nauvoo Brass Band.
