“Mormon Brigham”

Joseph Toronto

Before Joseph Toronto joined the Church he was told that he must see “Mormon Brigham” in a dream. For what purpose was it necessary for this Italian sailor to meet Brigham Young?

a.      He had money that Brigham Young desperately needed for the building of the Nauvoo Temple

b.      He had prayed to know the truth

c.       To convince the Church to move to Italy

d.      To convince Brigham Young to lead the Church to the Salt Lake Valley

Yesterday’s answer:

c.   The consecration of the Temple grounds

The following from the life of Joshua Midgley, born October 15, 1832: On February 14, 1853, a large celebration was held for the purpose of consecrating the temple grounds. Although it was in the middle of winter, a large crowd of thousands was present. They were arranged in the form of a hollow square, with songs by the Tabernacle Choir and music by the Nauvoo Brass Band. Then, on April 6, 1853, the twenty-third anniversary of the organization of the Church, another large ceremony was held on Temple Square for the laying of the southeast cornerstone of the Temple, again with thousands attending. As was customary on such occasions, the program again included entertainment by the band and choir, with appropriate talks and prayers.
