Pioneer Ingenuity

If we want something, we go to a store. However, the pioneers did not enjoy this luxury. In fact, if they needed something, and it wasn’t available, there were times when they had to substitute. What did pioneer Ann Jane Wilden have to use as a replacement for thread?
