Sacrament Behavior

During the early pioneer years in the Salt Lake Valley, it was not uncommon for the more spiritually sensitive to complain about Sacrament behavior. Which of the following were common complaints?

a.      Sleeping during the sacrament

b.      The sacrament prayer not specifically followed

c.       Dirty children drinking from the common cup

d.      Drinking to deeply from the common cup as if to quench a physical thirst

e.      All of the above

(C)   Carrots and brown sugar

In the winter sleigh riding was popular. A large wagon box was mounted on two sleighs and filled with straw, then two to four horses were hitched to the sleighs. Deep snow and a full moon made it complete. Carrots and brown sugar were the treats furnished by the admiring swains. Later, molasses candy and popcorn were included.
