In the winter sleigh riding was popular. A
large wagon box was mounted on two sleighs and filled with straw, then two to
four horses were hitched to the sleighs. Deep snow and a full moon made it
complete. Carrots and brown sugar were the treats furnished by the admiring
swains. Later, molasses candy and popcorn were included.
