On February 8,
1846, William Clayton notes in his journal that he is packing “public goods” in
readiness for the trek west. What did those “public goods” consist of and how
many wagons did it take him to pack it all?
This consisted of the Church’s official
records, books, musical instruments, and his families personal belongings. In
Clayton’s journal of May 12, 1846 he states that this consists of five tons
packed into six wagons.

ReplyDeleteYou're right, they were, but believe it or not, there was more. Anyways, always great to hear from my good friends in Great Falls. We were in Montana last year in September in the Bigfork/Kalispell/Glacier Park area. I miss it already. It would be nice to live back in Montana again. Take care Ron and Jo ann. We really miss not having you in our ward!!!
