On Sunday of this week, the Primary will celebrate its 136th anniversary. In Fanny Meadow’s journal, she states that she attended Primary the first day it was organized in Farmington, Utah on August 24, 1878. This really doesn’t seem that odd, except for her age. How old was she?

Between 1862 and
1882, only ten arrests had been made for cohabitation, but the number then
jumped significantly. Over 1,000 Mormon men were either arrested, tried, or
convicted and fined for being guilty under the Edmunds Law, which was an
amendment of the Anti-bigamy Law of 1862. After paying fines of between $500 to
$800, most were given prison sentences from one to five years in the Utah
penitentiary.
