It
has been said that during the dedicatory services of the Kirtland Temple that
angels were present. So many different accounts attribute to this that doubt is
non-existent. What’s interesting, is that Joseph Smith identified the angel
that entered the building during the dedicatory prayer and sat himself in the
stands. Who was the angel?
a a. Nephi
b b. Moses
c c. Peter
d d. Alma
Yesterday’s answer:
a a. $20,000
After some months
passed in this manner, persecution commenced against the Heads of the Church in
consequence of the failure of the Bank of Kirtland. This institution would have
been a financial success and a blessing to the Saints—which they needed very
much had the Gentiles who borrowed the money of the bank fulfilled their
promises. Also [Warren Parrish] Parish, the clerk and cashier, robbed the bank
of about $20,000. This things crippled the bank and caused it to suspend
business soon after; and false brethren in consequence forced President Smith
to Missouri, seemingly to save himself.
