Bribing the Guard

According to the Chicago Times, Joseph Smith may have bribed the guards with money for his and the other prisoners release from the Liberty Jail in Missouri. The newspaper article claimed Joseph offered how much money?

a.       $6,000

b.      $10,000

c.       $1,000

d.      $50

The following question was asked by L. John Nuttall and the answer given by President Brigham Young on Friday August 24, 1877:

At what age can children have their endowments?

If of a naturally ripe and early development of mind and body, as early as twelve years, but as a general rule fifteen years old is early enough.

This may seem incredible this day in age, although, when one considers how early people, especially women, married in those early years of the Church, this then would all make sense.

I discovered the following in the journal of Mary Emma Langston Stout to support the above fact:

This young lady married Alfred Fisk Stout in March of 1872 when only thirteen years old.
