The part of the seagull and cricket story that you may not know

I’m sure you've heard many times over the miracle of the Seagull. It may not make sense to most people not associated with our religion why a Seagull is even the state bird. However, we understand, and for those who experienced the losing battle against the crickets perfectly understand the elite ranking of the mundane Seagull in the state of Utah. However, there’s more to the story. The Seagull was a blessing to the Saints, but believe it or not, the crickets too were a blessing. How so?

a.      Developed an increase of faith and fortitude in our pioneer fathers

b.      Crops grow greener the next year after a cricket infestation

c.       The crickets were dried and eaten

d.      The crickets became food for the fish in Utah Lake

Yesterday’s answer:

(B)   No

One of the most important political actions to occur during 1891 was the disbanding of the People’s Party. As discussions arose regarding this move and the aligning of party members with national political parties, Joseph F. Smith, Wilford Woodruff, and several apostles held a meeting with some of the brethren who were members of the People’s Party. There they expressed the desire that the Saints should divide about equally among the national political organizations rather than going en masse to one specific party.
