“Down and Back” Shenanigans

The teenaged young men that were called to serve on the “Down and Back” teams, bringing home the emigrants answering the call to gather to the Salt Lake Valley, did have their fun.

 In nineteen-year old Zebulon Jacobs journal, he records that he woke up laughing because of what?

       a.      Looking at the faces of his fellow teamsters smeared in grease

b.      Their clothes had been stolen overnight

c.       Their oxen had been stolen overnight by another group of “Down and Back” young men

d.      Their oxen and wagons had been stolen overnight by another group of “Down and Back young men
