He Appeared and Sounded as Joseph

Joseph Smith

We are all familiar with the August 8, 1844 meeting when Brigham Young stood before the Saints in Nauvoo, both sounding and taking on the appearance of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Apparently, two days after Joseph’s death, Joseph appeared to W. W. Phelps. What did Joseph tell William to drive the kingdom around?

a.      The Salt Lake Valley

b.      The Twelve

c.       Brigham Young

d.      The Temple

Yesterday’s answer:

b.   It was the last name of the missionary who converted him.

Thomas Brown Holmes Stenhouse: Stenhouse apparently shard the English delight for long and distinguished names, evidently affixing “Holmes” in honor of the Mormon elder who performed his baptismal ordinance. Stenhouse was baptized in England in 1846.
