June 16th [1845] Monday morningÑAll well in Zion. Prosperity attends the Saints temporally and spiritually. The work on the temple progresses rapidly. The roof will soon be covered. In fact, the [Nauvoo] Temple soon will be enclosed. Calculation now is to build a tabernacle on the west end of the temple, twice as large as the temple, for the purpose of holding meetings, as the temple will no more than convene the priesthood. Weather fine, frequent showers, a growing time [and] a great prospect of a plentiful harvest this fall. My family all well up to this date.
