Sunday Tidbits—The Joseph Smith Sr. Family

1.      I imagine most families in America make extra money on the side as a result of special talents that they may have. Many teach piano, others cook or sew. The Joseph Smith Sr. family was no different and did a number of things to provide extra income, all the way from selling root beer at the July 4th celebration in Palmyra to Lucy Mack Smith producing and selling beautiful table covers. What did Joseph Sr. teach in order to provide additional income?

2.      I imagine there isn’t a person out there that didn’t have a nickname at one time or another in their life. My parents participated in the Lamanite Placement Program when I was young and so all the kids at school called me “Chief.” What was Joseph Smith Jr’s. nickname as a young boy?
